C++ Development Engineers + Senior. £40k - £55k Neg. Bonus.

Our well established client is looking for C++ Software Development Engineers at all levels to work in R&D and to develop cost-effective and innovative embedded software solutions.  Mainly working on one main New Product Introduction project at a time, you will also provide support for smaller projects and/or support activities. More senior / experienced engineers can have team mentoring and project leadership responsibilities if they wish.
Responsibilities:
o Undertake software requirements analysis, concept proposals and top-level design, detailed design and coding;
o Assist with problem investigation and provide appropriate solutions as and when required;
o Software implementation of PC applications to aid the product development;
o Implementation and debugging of core product components;
o Review of software requirements and detailed design;
o Undertake software verification and validation against functional requirements and national / international standards;
o Provide value engineering and cost reduction support.
Ideally you will be degree qualified (or equivalent experience) and have experience of hands-on software development in real-time embedded product development applications.
Key skills / experience can include (not all):
o C++ programming;
o Working knowledge of STL;
o Understanding of software design techniques using UML;
o Exposure to software development cycle;
o Experience of specifying test requirements and test specifications;
o Understanding of debug techniques;
o Software configuration management;
o Experience of using Google test or any other test framework;
o Working knowledge of Boost;
o Electronic hardware to software interfacing and microprocessor architectures from a software perspective.
